An interesting choice of jewellery for Catherine - Kate - on her wedding day. She kept her choice understated and simple. Did you notice the pear-shaped diamond drop earrings? She also wore a 1936 Cartier tiara which was loaned from the Queen, who had received it from her mother on her 18th birthday. The Duke of York ("The Kings Speech" film was about him) had commissioned the 'Halo' tiara for his wife, the late Queen Mother. Again, this was an understated jewel to wear as she could have opted for something much grander. She didn't wear a necklace, perhaps to keep her lace neckline simple and with a thought, maybe, of 'less is more'.
There are predictions that many brides to come will choose a very similar dress, although they would need to be wealthy to afford those drop earrings and the tiara. No doubt copies will be made though, at a more affordable level.
What IMAGICAL jewels and gems is wondering at this time is whether everyone who wants to look like the new Duchess of Cambridge will actually choose something to wear that suits them?
