Do you know which colours suit you? Have you thought about the connection between what you are wearing and your jewellery? What kind of jewellery would suit you best? Which colours of jewellery will show your true personality and what will that say about you?

Do you often end up wearing BLACK? It might allow you to keep your privacy, or look sexy in that lbd, and it can be useful in business. If you always wear it though, perhaps it's time for a change, and time for you to think about putting some other colours in your life.

RED stimulates passion, desire, stability, courage. Have you any red jewels, and if so, what kind of personality traits do you think you display when you glam up in red?

Wearing ORANGE is not for everyone - does your colouring mean you look good in orange? Orange is regarded as a happy colour, and good for dancing!

Like blue? Men and women love light blue and it gives a classic, elegant look. Is this you, or do you prefer a more snazzy YELLOW? It's a friendly colour which those of you who want to make a statement about your bright and special personality will choose.

Violet inspires gentleness, and creativity. Are you a creative? If you create music or art work it is said that voilet will be a great colour for you to wear.

If you have a good eye for colour, it could be that you can go for the multi colour option. People will love to look at your choice of colours and it might give hints about your vivid imagination.

Let's end with PINK. This is a colour that attracts comfort and relaxation, and wearing baby pink will see you pass unnoticed, if that's what you choose.

So - think carefully about your colour choices, and whether your jewellery echoes your true personality.

Here's something for all you fans of vintage! Heard of Lina Baretti? Well, she was a couture jeweller living in Paris .... She would use materials such as velvet, cork, cellulose acetate, pearls and mother of pearl. She was around in the 1940s and 50s, designing and making. She embroidered, plaited straw and raffia, and even sculpted little buttons from pine in her native Corsica. In the post-war years she was friendly with Balenciaga and Schiaparelli, and her costume jewellery was still in the news right into the 1970s. She supplied couture houses with her work, and her fans included Rochas, Lanvin and Chanel. Why not put her name into your search engine and view some of her work. You'll find auction houses in the USA who still trade in her pieces. You'll also notice how she influenced many of today's jewellery designers and makers.
